The AStA is looking for you!

Every semester, the AStA organises several major events such as the Fresher's Week, the Market of Opportunities, but also the Long Nights of Learning, the 24-hour lecture and various educational events. We almost always need people to support us during the event. Whether it's packing fresher's bags, setting up the buffet or supervising speakers, we welcome any help!

How can you help?

As soon as we know how many people we need for which events, we will inform the so-called "AStA pool". This is a group on Telegram that we have organised for the purpose of this. You can then simply get in touch and let us know if and when you are available.

Before we accept you into the pool, we want to get to know you briefly so that we can explain the processes behind the pool to a face we don't yet know. Please get in touch with the AStA heads of department. Whether by email, phone or for a coffee/cocoa. We'll have a quick chat about what you'd like to do in the AStA and then add you to the group.

Would you like to take a look behind the scenes of the AStA? Would you like to volunteer for the student body, but a department (Abteilung) is too much for you? Do you have ideas for projects or would you like to get involved in existing AStA projects? Then perhaps an internship at the AStA is something for you?

Internship at the AStA

No matter in which department (Abteilung), from Finance to International Affairs to Ecology, an internship is possible in any area. Depending on your interests and specialisations, you can get a taste of almost every department (Abteilung). You can gain direct experience of student self-government, learn new skills and perhaps even try your hand at individual projects.

We are also students, we do not have years of professional experience or special training, but we can pass on the skills we have learnt, grant you direct and honest insights and all this for the students! In terms of topics, projects or times, we are probably just as flexible as you are. Take a look at the areas and tasks of the AStA, maybe one area interests you in particular.

Are you really keen on volunteering and want to get involved in helping students? Do you have a bit of time to spare and would like to be paid for your work? Perhaps you already have some experience in university politics or are at least interested in a specific area?

Become a referent or clerk in the AStA

In accordance with the AStA structure, which is determined annually by the student portal at the beginning of the legislative period, there are around 10 to 15 officers and several administrative positions in the AStA. All positions are held by members of the student body and are elected once a year by the student parliament, usually around May. However, we almost always have vacancies and are looking for your support!
