You are welcome to visit us at the AStA office and take advantage of our wide range of services, from cheap copying and printing to information and advice. You are also welcome to get involved with us as a speaker or intern - we are always looking for support.
The AStA is not only available to all students as a contact for concerns, problems or needs, but also serves as the official interest representation of the Greifswald student body, both in the university's political bodies and externally. At the same time, the AStA officers are actively involved in supporting student culture in Greifswald, for example through the organisation or financial support of cultural activities and events.
The Students' Union (AStA) consists of 13 representatives in the areas of university policy, administration, social affairs, study organisation and culture. Topics such as the improvement of study conditions, efforts to create a sustainable university, gender equality for all students and political education are among our areas of responsibility. You yourself study at the University of Greifswald and are actively involved in the concerns of the student body.
The AStA is elected annually at the beginning of the summer semester by the Student Parliament (StuPa). However, it is quite possible that some departments (Departments) are not occupied at that time. You can apply for these if they are called for proposals. This application must also be elected by the StuPa. As the student parliament meets every two weeks, the application will be considered very quickly.
Would you like to know more about the departments (Abteilung) and their respective tasks? Then have a look at your contact details.
